This summer I have posted several times about our ladybug tree. We have watched the entire life cycle of the ladybug before our eyes, which has been really awesome. I was especially excited when I discovered a ladybug that had just come out of its pupa. The wing covers are yellow because they haven't hardened yet. As the wing covers harden they turn red and the black spots appear. So cool!
One of my neighbors has beautiful golden mums. So yesterday afternoon I headed for their sunny spot to take some pictures yesterday before it rained. I found a ton of little bees, busily gathering pollen and I managed to get some really lovely pictures.
I had intended to take a walk yesterday evening to capture the golden light of evening, but it rained. So much for evening sunlight! Not to be deterred, I took my umbrella and went walking anyway. I loved these little berries I discovered along the way.
I have no idea what kind of berry these are, but I thought they were pretty. I quite enjoyed my little walk in the rain. When my three small children go to sleep in the evening it is my time for a little peace and tranquility.
And finally, here are some wildflowers. Or perhaps they are weeds.
Either way, I think they are lovely and after all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

ReplyDeleteThose are VERY little bees! Nice to see them. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the black and white details on the head and thorax of the ladybird beetle, and contrast of the rough tree bark. The wet berries and sunlit weeds and flowers are interesting too.
