Typically I only get to go on rides that are 15-20 miles because that is all I have time for. But I needed to get in longer ride to get my body ready. That way doing 100 miles in one day doesn't kill me! So on Memorial Day, my Honey and I went on 50 mile ride in preparation for my 100 miles. I am so lucky to have a husband who shares my interests and is willing to torture himself for 50 miles in my behalf.
We took our kids to a friend's house in Spanish Fork to play, and we left from her house and rode around West Mountain. It was a really great day to ride! The weather was nice and it was beautiful on the west side of the mountain.
I couldn't get over how beautifully green-blue the lake was, especially when contrasted with the pink bushes and the dark green reeds in the water. When I lamented the fact that I did not have my camera, my Honey suggested that I stop and take some pictures with my phone. Duh!
We finished our 50 miles in 3 hours. We were pretty tired after that! Apparently we were not the only ones who had fun and were tired.
I may go on one more short ride this week, just to stretch my legs. Friday we will drive to Logan, and Saturday is the big ride. I am really excited because this year will be the first time I have friends to ride with! Wahoo! Wish me luck!
Linked up to Wordful Wednesday, Wordish Wednesday, and Wordless Wednesdays all over
