You Capture: Peace

When I saw this prompt, I knew immediately what represents peaceful moments for me.

You see, I have a very rambunctious three-year-old. He has SO much energy and goes through life at top speed. He is a sweet boy and I love him to pieces, but he definitely keeps Mommy on her toes!

As you can imagine, taking care of little ones like Eli can be exhausting sometimes. However there is a time in the afternoon when my beautiful boy looks like this:

Ahhh.... blissful silence. I almost didn't want to take this picture for fear of waking him up! Good thing he is a sound sleeper!

My peace and quiet is even more perfect when you find this in the other bedroom:

Naptime is my favorite time of day. It is when I get to do what I want to. I can just sit and read, play around on the computer, or just relax. It is heavenly.

There was one other incident this week that made me think of another form of "peace" at the Honey House.

This week Jonah started Kindergarten, which Eli has a hard time with. There has been a lot of excitement about the start of Kindergarten, Jonah having a loose tooth and getting to play soccer. I think Eli has felt a little left out.

So I have made an extra effort to make Eli feel special too. We got Eli a new shirt and notebook for preschool and I made sure that I took his picture on the first day of school. When I started working on a tooth fairy pillow for Jonah, I knew I had to make one for Eli too.

Because sometimes keeping the peace means making two tooth fairy monster pillows, even though only one of your boys has a loose tooth.

  2. I think it's so cool that you have your kids in the same order and sort of the same ages apart (although a couple of years behind -ha!) as mine.

And that first photo is so lovely and peaceful and your baby girl just looks like a little doll.

I'm always too scared to take pics while they are sleeping. You did a great job!! :)

  6. Lovely pictures! I am looking forward to the day when my sons sleep at the same time. I have an almost 2 year old and a 5 week old. I know it's still early, but I can't wait until they nap at the same time so I can have some of that me-time back. :)

Both of your children are gorgeous!
