Honey Daddy and I are not really pancake people. We both prefer waffles for breakfast, or even eggs with sausage or bacon. Consequently neither of our boys have really even had pancakes before. Apparently Jonah has heard about the wonder of pancakes, because he asked me recently why we never have them. I told him that Mommy and Daddy prefer waffles, but maybe I would make him pancakes sometime.
So last week Jonah woke up and was really sad because Papa and Grandma left to go home. The poor little guy was crying and asking me why they had to go. To cheer him up I offered to make him pancakes for breakfast.
I can't even remember the last time I made pancakes, but how hard can it be? I got out the batter and Jonah watched as I made his pancakes. Luckily they turned out beautifully golden brown. Both the boys ate their pancakes with gusto. As a matter of fact, Jonah told me, "These are the best pancakes of my life!".
That totally cracked me up because they are probably the only pancakes I have ever made thus far!
He asked me if I would make him pancakes again, so I told him I probably would sometime. Then Jacob said, "That would make me SO happy because I LOVE pancakes!"
Looks like I will be adding pancakes to my breakfast menu for the boys! At least they are fast and easy. Oh, and Eli likes them too.
Of course I tried the pancakes too... and all I have to say is that they still aren't my favorite. Oh well, pancakes for the boys and cereal for me!
Don't forget my CSNstores.com $60 Gift Card Giveaway, which ends on Saturday!
OH man, I love pancakes. Add some blueberries or bananas and I bet they will like them even more! :)
ReplyDeletepretty cute!! my kids are waffle eaters too! (or french toast - which is my fav)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big pancake fan either but my kids LOVE them, so we have them often and Russ & I have eggs :)
ReplyDeleteOh so adorable! my youngest loves pancakes or waffles....doesn't matter to him as long as you put syrup on them. My oldest is happy with dry cereal!
ReplyDeleteI went my whole 37 years not caring for pancakes, and now suddenly I crave them and love them. Weird!
ReplyDeleteI just got an email from IHOP saying kids eat free for the whole month of August...just FYI...LOL!
got to love when they have positive reactions to food. I make extra pancakes and waffles when I make them and freeze them. Then when the boys want them I just pull them out of the freezer and pop them into the toaster oven for a bit to warm them up
ReplyDeleteMy kids LOVE pancakes, too. I finally had to buy a countertop skillet so that I could make them for all the kids in bulk! :)
