First the roofing supply truck came and put tons of shingles, underlayment and nails on top of our house.
Then the BIG dumpster showed up in front of our house.
I promise we didn't leave the boys in the dumpster!
Then this morning Honey Daddy and Papa started shoveling the shingles off the house. Naturally the boys wanted to help. So we let them go up on the roof and pick up nails to put in the bucket.
I wasn't too nervous about Jonah being on the roof. He has a healthy sense of fear and self-preservation.
Eli on the other hand has absolutely no fear. We had to tell him repeatedly to walk, not run on the roof! So I kept my eye on him, as did Honey Daddy and Papa.
We have some wonderful neighbors and friends who are up on the roof right now, helping us shovel the rest of the shingles off. Then for the next couple of mornings and evenings Honey Daddy and Papa will be working in the sun to get new shingles on our house.
I have the best roofing crew ever! I hope the work goes well and swiftly. I hope the weather is cooperative and not too hot. I can't wait for the roof to be finished!
I would have been a nervous wreck!

ReplyDeleteLittle boys must help their daddy. Our little man is always doing something to help his daddy. Hey can I borrow the dumpster, it looks like a safe place to put little man to keep track of him.(LOL). I would love for you to come read my WW post.

Sorry, I hope for their sakes the weather does NOT hold, but cools down a bit. It is way too hot to be on the roof! (p.s. come by sometime so I can give you a plant!)
ReplyDeleteThey want to come and do my roof next?
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome family project. We've done roofs before for Habitat..but never our own.
ReplyDeleteI guess they don't have a fear of heights! I can't believe that!
ReplyDeleteThat is a major project you got going there... I always can't wait until projects like those finish.
ReplyDeleteI would have been terrified, but I think it's super-cool that you weren't. Good luck with the roof. Very exciting, and even more exciting that your hubby can do it. Mine could not.
