My boy were so excited last week when I declared that it was warm enough to get out their swimming pool. They were literally dancing with joy.
They played in the pool late that afternoon, even though the water was a little bit chilly. They had a blast and didn't seem to mind the water temperature!
The water never got a chance to get warm because it was cold and it rained ...and rained... and RAINED! We were so bummed out! Saturday I emptied the pool and told the boys we would try again this week.
Finally it has warmed up, so today the pool is full and the water is warming up. While Eli was taking a nap this afternoon I told Jonah "go outside and check the temperature of the water in the pool". I wanted him to tell me if he thought the water was getting warmer.
After a few minutes Jonah came downstairs with our digital thermometer (dripping wet) in his hand to show me what the pool's "temperature" was! It cracked me up that he took me so literally!
What a funny boy.
We have been having the same issues with rain and cold. It is not good.
ReplyDeleteBut your boys look like they are enjoying themselves.
Great photos....looks like they were having lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW
He's a smart one!! So...how's your thermometer doing after it had a dip? Does it work anymore?
ReplyDeleteFun pics! You did ask him to check the temp after all, LOL! :) And yes, they are sooo literal! I remember my son when he was 3. He stood next to our front door and called out to me, "Mommy, look! I am the boy next door!"
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! My boys love their pool, and it got a hole in it, so they are devestated!
ReplyDeleteUGH... I don't know what's worse...rain and cold or HOT & dripping humidity. That's what we have here in PA. HORRIBLE.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are finally getting a chance to get out there to play.
That's hilarious. I'm always telling Dumb Dad to ease up on the sarcasm because they just don't get it yet. Don't want him to ruin their innocence anyway. Looks like a blast!
ReplyDeletethat is too funny. how smart of him to grab the thermometer even if it wouldn't keep the temp into the house... show a lot of thought (o:
ReplyDeletevery refreshing!
ReplyDeleteWhat silly boys! We are loving our pool here, too!
ReplyDeleteAwww.....I miss the days when a small pool would entertain my kids for hours!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I love summer with the kids.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are all to happy to see Summer on the horizon! That first pic says it all. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad they have been able to enjoy the pool at least once! I heard it was in the 90's last week in your area?
ReplyDeleteKids are so amazingly smart! I'm always wondering if I was that smart at their age.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how much fun a kiddie pool can provide?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Those boys are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't busted out our kiddie pool yet, but it would make some great WW pics, wouldn't it? ;-)
There's nothing like a kid pool...it's awesome how it captivates them! :)
