We've never seen snails around here, so of course we had to play with him for a while and take his picture. Jonah was absolutely fascinated by him and asked if we could keep him for a pet.
Snail on pyrex
The idea of a pet snail was not too appealing to me. Besides, I don't really know what they eat or what happens to them in the winter anyway. So instead we released him back into the "wild"... a good distance from our house.
I guess it's not too hard to say no to a face like this.

I would have an issue with a pet snail too! But what great pics!
ReplyDeleteWow I have had escargo, but after seeing that I am not sure I could do it again!
ReplyDeleteWell we discovered that if you try to cut a slug in half (close relative to your snail there), they ooze black. Absolutely disgusting!
ReplyDeleteSnails are much better then slugs and easier to "play" with.
ReplyDeleteGreat job capturing the cute little critter!
ReplyDeleteYou don't have snails around there?
ReplyDeleteWe have tons here during the rainy season. In fact, a few weeks ago one of my twins "collected" about 20. We had to leave and you should have seen his face when we got back and his "collection" was no longer there. :)
