This weekend Honey Daddy and I went on a bike ride. We are training for the bicycle tour that we are participating in on Saturday. I think if I had known exactly where we were going I would have said something like, "No Way, No How!"
Here's a picture I took when we were near the top. To give you an idea, we started WAY down there in the valley and rode our bikes all the way to the top. We climbed about 1,575 feet in elevation in about 10 miles. I think I nearly died.
I was so proud of myself for accomplishing this ride! It made me want to say, "I eat hills for breakfast!" We had a blast riding down the hill. My odometer said we were going over 40 mph!
In other happenings, lately little Eli has discovered his toes... and apparently he thinks they are pretty tasty.
He is getting closer and closer to crawling, but I can't seem to get a photo of him up on his knees yet... the little bugger! I sat there forever this morning trying to catch him at it, but no luck.
Jonah was not happy that I was taking so many photos of Eli. He insisted I take a photo of him as well. I didn't really have a problem with that, so here it is:
Finally... I spent today canning spaghetti sauce. It was a pretty tiring endeavor. I was so jealous when I came to the living room to take a break and found Eli like this. Doesn't that look so nice and peaceful?!
OK, that picture of Eli asleep is so great. I love it when babies are so tired they just crash in the middle of whatever they are doing.
ReplyDeleteWay to go canning the spaghetti sauce, and oh my gosh, my legs cramped up just looking at the picture of the incline you biked. Wow!
Ooooh, I do love a toe-sucking baby.
ReplyDeletelove babies sucking toes - so cute - and sleeping on the floor - so adorable!! The other guy doesnt' look so happy though.
ReplyDeleteLove the bike riding stories - PRE-babies my hubbie and i used to do that all the time. MY best ride to date though was a 50 mile ride - incredibly difficult - but I was so proud of myself!! GOOD LUCK!!
I would have passed out. To high up for me and on a bike. No way.
ReplyDeleteToe Sucking babies are too cute..
ahhhh a nap...that sounds good!
ReplyDeleteWay. To. Go. on that ride!! woo hoo!
AND you canned spaghetti sauce. i bow at your awesomeness!
Wow! That is amazing! I love to ride my bike, but I live in the city and have discovered the hard way that it just isn't safe.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the ones of the kids! There is nothing like a sleeping baby!
Toes are delicious, baby pictures are precious but don't forget the older one. Both are adorable.
ReplyDeleteWhat an accomplishment and what a great shot you took at the top!
ReplyDeleteLove the baby toes and that big brother wanted in on that action (my kids roll their eyes at me now when I have the camera in their faces...which is all the time). And the sleeping baby...is there anything sweeter?
Great photos and congratulations on that hill climb. I have done "virtual" hills in spinning but nothing like that in real life!
ReplyDeleteHi from WW..love the sleeping picture!! Wish I could do that.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the climb biking..that is so amazing!!Good for you!
ur boys are precious! so stinking cute! and that hill...yikes!!!
ReplyDeletei love that the baby is out like a light, not giving a care about your canning!
Love the pics! That baby is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWow, 10 miles uphill? Yikes, I would have had that tattoo'd on my arm. I eat hills for breakfast! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour little ones are adorable!
What a great bike ride! So great you and your husband are making time to bike. Your boys are so cute!
ReplyDeleteVery cute kids! I am loving my little boy. I have found out what fun boys can be. I bet you have a blast with 2 of them. I can't believe your little one is trying to crawl! That's pretty impressive.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that last picture is priceless! Absolutely adorable. Way to go on the bike ride. I wish I would get my butt in shape like that.
ReplyDeleteYou're children are beautiful, and I'm so envious that your baby will nap on the floor! It's tough enough to get my extra-nosy son to nap in his crib.
ReplyDeleteI also like the name of your blog and the story behind it.
Aww, both boys are so adorable. Eli was tuckered out from all that toe tasting. I can't believe you biked all the way up! My legs would have given out.
ReplyDeleteYou eat hills for breakfast... that is a great line! Good luck with your even on Sat.
ReplyDeleteThose pics are priceless. Love the sucking toes one.
I cannot believe that hill!!! I am very impressed. You did not say how long your ride is on Saturday. I have many biker friends and I know how long distance biking is and especially road biking. You Rock!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you "eat hills for breakfast"! And the photos are adorable. Good luck with your bike tour. :)
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoo.......That's a crazy ride momma......I'm super duper proud of you :o)
