Rebuilding Legos (and Eardrums)

I had planned to participate in my usual Sunday Scavenger Hunt, as well as post about what we have been up to lately, but then I caught this darn head cold.

Why is it when my kids get sick, they just get runny noses and coughs but when I catch their same virus it mutates and gets into my ears? In the past two days both of my eardrums ruptured, which was not a pleasant experience to say the least. I finally feel a bit better, but can't really hear much of anything. Ah well! At least my house is quieter, right?

So here is an iPhone photo review of our recent happenings. Grandpa came to visit and we had so much fun with him! He got to play with the kids, go to soccer practice and help Daddy with projects. One Saturday we went to a frosty, early morning soccer game... luckily Grandpa suggested we bring our propane heater. The team thought it was awesome!

While Grandpa was here we also had what I call the Great Lego Explosion, also known as the Great Lego Rebuild of 2013. Grandpa and the boys went through our enormous Lego bucket and tried to put everything back together again.

As you can see, it was quite the project! There were TONS of little Lego bits all over the floor. But they were determined to get everything rebuilt.

I couldn't believe that they actually did it? There were a few pieces missing here and there, but here are most of the boys Lego sets. Their Lego Star Wars sets are not in this picture (mostly because they wouldn't all fit on the table).

While the boys were working on Legos, I worked on a little crocheting. My dear friend just had a baby, so I had to make a tiny pumpkin hat for him. While I was at it, I made a bigger one for my little girl. Aren't they cute?

Speaking of my little girl, we finally moved her into a big girl bed!  Doesn't she look so tiny?

She has been able to get in and out of her crib for a while now, so we figured it was about time. Plus, Grandpa was here to help Daddy put the bed together! Luckily Miss Aubrey handled the transition pretty well.

So that's what we've been up to. I hope we are done with this virus and that my ears will heal quickly. It's annoying to feel like I am walking around with earplugs in and also kind of obnoxious to have to keep saying, "What?" all the time.

  3. So, we have been planning on doing the same with our Legos. Since your boys are so well practiced they should come help. Of course they might have to stay the rest of the year, we are a bit inundated with Legos over here.

Get feeling better and cute hats!
