Over the River and Through the Woods of Wyoming

December is just flying by, isn't it?

I can't believe that I missed my weekly Scavenger Hunt. I actually haven't been blogging much more than once a week lately anyway! It must be the time of year. I have just been too busy off having fun to spend much time in front of the computer.

One reason I didn't get to my scavenger hunt this week is because we went to Grandma's house inWyoming for the weekend. Every year my rather large family gets together for our annual Christmas party. I have five siblings, so when you get all of us and our families together it is quite a party!

Sometimes traveling to and from Wyoming can be quite the party as well!

These are the kinds of roads that make me really nervous! Snow covered and slippery. But apparently my two boys weren't too concerned.

I don't know how they sleep in the car! Actually, I took this picture as we were heading home for the weekend so they were exhausted from having so much fun.

We had a great weekend visiting my family. We ate yummy food, opened presents, played games and chatted. It was fabulous! As you can imagine, with a family as large as mine we don't get together often. So we had to take a family picture.

Of course I am going to have to do a bit of editing and probably change a few heads around, but overall it's not too bad considering the fact that we just had a camera on a tripod with a remote!

Somehow we always hit snow whenever we travel to Wyoming. I tried to concentrate on how pretty the snow-covered trees were instead of the roads.

Actually, the drive wasn't too bad. The roads may have been covered with snow, but at least it wasn't snowing the entire drive. We have driven through worse!

The rest of the week we have been hanging out at home, getting ready for Christmas. We have had a couple of mini milestones. I actually got all of Miss Aubrey's hair into ONE ponytail. Pretty good for a 21-month-old, huh?

Isn't she a beautiful girl? She looks so grown up with all her hair pulled back!

In other news, remember Jonah's loose tooth? You know, the one that has been loose for a month now? The one that is so loose that you can actually see the new tooth pushing it out?

The tooth that is so loose that you can actually see the top of the tooth where it is no longer connected to the gums? Sheesh! I have been waiting for the tooth to fall out, and it kept hanging in there. So today I told Jonah that I would let him play Wii if he let me just give his tooth one little tug. He agreed, and it popped right out! Hooray!

I will have to post a pic of his gap-toothed grin later. What a cutie!

  1. That is what I call a family holiday - how fun. I miss the days when all of my family got together, or even that of my husband's family. Anymore, with most of our kids grown, everyone is off doing their own thing.

PS - did miss you over at the Scavenger Hunt - but glad it was for something as special as time with family.

  3. I wondered why you didn't post on Sunday. If I was a better friend I would have called. I am glad your trip went safely. Did you have to make your kids so cute? It makes me want to snuggle them.

  4. That first picture is just gorgeous! And I can't wait to see the post tooth pulling picture...my youngest just lost that tooth. I don't think anything is as cute as those little gapped tooth smiles :-)
