Seventh Generation Diaper Giveaway

Have you seen The Lorax yet? We’re hop­ing to see the movie soon, but we love the book. It’s such a great resource for teach­ing kids about the envi­ron­ment! Because of its envi­ron­men­tal mes­sage, Sev­enth Gen­er­a­tion will fea­ture lim­ited edi­tion Lorax prints on all their dia­pers and train­ing pants in part­ner­ship with Uni­ver­sal Stu­dios’ motion pic­ture debut of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax.  These prints are intended to remind par­ents and care­givers of the lessons of The Lorax, and encour­age fam­ily read­ing and envi­ron­men­tal aware­ness while cre­at­ing a few smiles.

I was sent a package of Seventh Generation diapers to test, and I was immediately surprised upon opening the package that the diapers have a slight brown tint to them instead of being white. Of course, I quickly realized that it is the lack of a chlorine bleach that normally produces a white diaper.

Free & Clear diapers do NOT include chlorine processing, fragrances, latex and petroleum based lotions. They have a lighter weight core (which leads to less landfill waste while continuing to offer premium absorbency) and chlorine-free wood pulp.  This makes certain that NO chlorine is released into the environment during the whitening process. Seventh Generation seeks to provide a diaper that has less of an effect on the environment than the average disposable diaper while still offering a product that keeps your baby dry!

Why are diapers white, anyway? Once I got over the color difference, the diapers were quite nice. Of course I also like knowing I am doing something good for the planet! The diaper itself is really durable, and it does have fantastic absorbency. We used the entire package of diapers and had absolutely no problem with leaks! Overall, I am really impressed at the quality of these diapers, and knowing that they are better for the environment is icing on the cake.
