Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Bokeh

This was the hardest prompt for me this week. I managed to get several pictures that looked bokeh-ish, but they were not exactly what I wanted. I finally managed to get pictures that I can live with... but I have a question. Is bokeh supposed to be round? The ones in my top photo are shaped like pentagons!

Process of Elimination

This photo is a bit of a stretch, especially given there are no eliminations in my son's soccer league (but I did have to move around to eliminate parents from the photos). Given what you know about my little family, can you deduce which of these soccer players is mine? My son's team is called the sharks, so you can eliminate some of the players, right? He also shares my hair color. So now the "process of elimination" is up to you!

Remember

Remember not long ago when one of the scavenger hunt items was "night photography"? This is the picture I really wanted for that week! Also I may not remember when man first landed on the moon, but I do remember a time when my pictures of the moon were just bright blobs of light, so this photo reminds me of how far I've come!

Statues

This is one of my favorites from this week. I went to the university where my husband works because they have lots of statues around. All the pictures that I took just seemed boring... until I found a pair of flip-flops abandoned by this statue of a girl reading. I had to find a chair to stand on to get the picture I wanted, but it was worth it!

Flying High

Not too far from our house is gathering spot for hang gliding and paragliding called Point of the Mountain. We have driven past it several times and have been fascinated, watching them use nothing but wind to glide around the sky. When I went to take photos, I got lucky and caught this paraglider and a falcon in the same shot.

  7. Terrific! I love those flip-flops with the statue and cute interpretation on process of elimination! Fantastic moon shot!

I actually really like your bokeh shots, particularly the first one. If your aperture is wide open, your bokeh will be round. If it is stopped down than it will start showing the edges of the aperture blades/pentagon shape. I believe both are considered bokeh. I keep trying to get the non-round kind, but I just love shooting wide open :)
