The theme for You Capture this week is "Cold".
No problem, I thought. After all, we have been stuck in the teens and twenties here lately... except you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell that by looking out the window. At the end of last week we didn't have any snow, and we don't really get a lot of frost.
So it took me a minute to decide what I could take a picture of that showed just how cold it is here. Then I remembered Utah Lake.
This time of year the lake is mostly frozen over, and I think it looks quite lovely. So we drove by one day this week and took some pictures.
I thought I was done with taking "cold" pictures for the week, but Mother Nature decided to be even more obliging. Tuesday morning we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground!
My boys were excited to go outside and help Daddy shovel the driveway.
Good thing too, because at 8 months pregnant I am definitely not very helpful! My boys love the snow and I love that they want to be helpful to their Daddy.
After the snowstorm I thought Mount Timpanogos behind my house looked beautiful! I could actually see the vapors of cold air rising off the mountain. Talk about frosty!
looks like you've got some good helpers there, and yes you should not be shoveling anymore!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your landscape shots are AWESOME. And what a cute little helper you have! :)
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have some beautiful "Cold" shots this week!

ReplyDeleteAww, I love you helpers' hats, so cute!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, and the pics of your kids are adorable. Winter was made for kids, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
ReplyDeleteLove the hats! Oh my gosh I just realized why my shoulders hurt, shoveling snow! DUH!
ReplyDeleteoh WOW! I love your mountains. Stunning :D
ReplyDeleteThose hats are adorable (and good lighting too in the photos). I love the landscape shots as well.
ReplyDeleteI love those hats! And those mountains are amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful pictures - I'm not sure which are more beautiful - the boys or the mountains but they are all surely beautiful! And you get to live with that scenery! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteLove that the boys are helping shovel and their hats are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures. Adore those mountains against the blue skies. I have lived through a couple of Utah winters and enjoyed them because there was always so much sunshine. Not quite the same in grey Vienna.
