This week it was my turn to teach as part of the cooperative preschool I am doing for Jonah. We are doing a series on community workers, and I was lucky enough to get to teach about construction workers. It was so much fun!
Of course since I have two boys, I had no difficulty coming up with books or props. We just got out all their bulldozers, dump trucks, rollers, and excavators. We also pulled out their hard hat and tool box. Since preschool was at my house, little Eli got to participate too, which he LOVED!
Of course I couldn't resist taking a couple pictures. All the kids loved to wear the hard hat and learn about what construction workers do. We also talked about tools and sang "This is the way we hammer the nail... this is the way we turn the screw..." etc. while the kids mimicked the action with the tools. It was awesome!
Later Jonah put on the hard hat and insisted that I take a picture of him with each and every tool as he pulled them out of the tool bag. What a funny boy!
p.s. Need a new dress? Don't forget to check out my Shabby Apple Giveaway which ends Friday!
Now, all you need to do is teach them to grunt! hehe Very cute :D
ReplyDeleteJonah is a PRECIOUS handy man!
ReplyDeletehahaha... That's the cutest picture ever!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! My girls love all tools and construction equipment too. They would so much rather be out in the garage with daddy than almost anywhere else, however they are dressed in princess dresses LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a cooperative preschool! Great props and pics!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute that he wanted you to take a pic with all the tools!
ReplyDeleteI remember when my oldest was obsessed with construction vehicles - so cute!
I think that is such a fantastic idea for a preschool! Wish there were ones like that here, esp now that I have just one child home with me (she needs a social life....)
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic!! Our boys would get along famously. One of our highlights of the summer was when they were working on the water lines outside and had a backhoe - the guys even let the boys sit in it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a fun idea - a Coop Preschool - I have never heard of that before!
Very cute, and I think it's great about doing a series on community workers. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteBoys are their tools. My son loves them too.
ReplyDeletetoo cute, and I love the idea of a cooperative preschool what a fun way to learn and connect
ReplyDeleteSo Cute!!
ReplyDeleteBuddy likes to "help" Daddy, so whenever Daddy has his tools out, Buddy is right alongside him with his own tools!!
