You Spin Me Right Round

I love old-fashioned play equipment. It isn't too often these days that you see a park with a merry-go-round on it. I guess it is "too dangerous", along with some of the other equipment I remember playing on as a child.

Here are my boys, having a great time on the merry-go-round (and yes, it was going round and round!).

I love this picture, and all the credit goes to Honey Daddy.

He was letting the boys take some time to play at a park last weekend while I was out riding 103 miles on my bike in one day (someday I'll stop bringing that up, I swear!).

  1. Ooo, great photo!!! I sure do miss the merry go rounds too.

And now, I'll continue to sing that silly re-invented rap song in my head all night long! lol!

Oh, and you go ahead and brag, you've earned it.

  2. Where did you find a playground that still has a merry-go-round? Do they have swings too (no one has swings anymore)?

The only thing I don't miss about the old playgrounds are the metal slides -- hot! hot! hot! hot! hot!

  3. I LOVED the merry go round when I was a kid. They are terribly hard to find these day....it is a miracle we all survived with out the playground park and had swings, merry go rounds and metal slides! That is really a precious picture!

  10. It does look like fun! It's sad some of those old faithful toys aren't around anymore!

  11. You be proud of those 103 miles!

And I love merry go rounds, too. There's a really small one at the park near our house. I put Moose on it and make him hold on...then he moves around while I push him. ha!

And thank you so much. I hope 2 is easier than 1; I think honestly I'm worried about not getting everyone fed on time. haha Is that weird? And I don't know if I know what I'm doing this time around any more than the last time, though ha! Maybe I'll surprise myself. :)

  12. Love the cute shot! I have to admit those weren't my choice of fun on the playground...I LOVED swings! I still get on them when I am playing with the kids, but I liked watching all the other kids enjoy the merry-go-round! :)

  13. We've got a playground around here, too, that has one of those ancient death-traps ~ my girls LOVE IT!!! And I love watching them try to walk a straight line once they get off! Good stuff.

    PS. I tagged you today.

  17. 103 miles!!!! I'd be bringing that up every chance I got!!!
Merry go rounds like that are nonexistent around here now. They've all been pulled up. :( Looks like your boys had a ball!

  18. I swear, besides the jungle gym (do playgrounds even have those anymore), the merry-go-round was always my favorite. I guess the plastic playgrounds with the soft mulch are safer, but I think we had a LOT more fun, back in the day!
