My two little boys wake up fairly early in the morning. For some reason their internal clocks seem to be set at sometime around 7 a.m., if not earlier! Unfortunately I am not really much of a morning person. If I had the choice I would probably sleep until around 8 a.m. or so.
Needless to say, sometimes in the morning it takes me a while to become fully awake.
A few days ago Eli woke up particularly early. I could hear him making noise and moving around at approximately 6 a.m. I did my best to ignore him and hope he would go back to sleep. Finally just before 7 a.m. I gave up and got out of my warm, cozy bed.
While I was getting dressed, Jonah popped out of his bedroom. Apparently Eli woke him up too. Jonah asked me if he could go in and see his brother, and I said "Sure".
Next thing I know Jonah calls out, "Mommy, Eli is naked!"
What?!
That woke me up in a hurry! I walked into Eli's room, and sure enough... there he was in his crib, wearing only his diaper and a big grin. He was running back and forth from one end of the crib to the other, laughing all the while.
It seems Eli has figured out how to undo the snaps on his pajamas while he was waiting for me to come and get him. I'm just glad he didn't figure out how to get his diaper off too!
I guess from now on Eli will be wearing pajamas with zippers instead of snaps!
Oh no, when he figures out the zipper then will come the diaper. I remember that very well with the boy. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny.
ReplyDeletehave a great week!
Haha! Ooooh man.. I am not looking forward to returning to that stage!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for diapers!
ReplyDeleteGotta love those early morning surprises.
Hold on Mommy! The diaper WILL BE next!!! Getting undressed is a favorite thing for some kids, and the more you try to stop them the more they want to defy you, lol!!
ReplyDeleteBut you had to laugh at the site of him!!! So cute!
HAHA Oh don't you love the days of discovery!
ReplyDeleteWhen my little guy was about 6 months old (last summer) I put him to bed in nothing but his diaper, and he managed to get it off. Fortunately there was no mess associated with it, but I always make sure he is fully clothed now. However, recently he figured out how to get his shirts off, and now I'm just playing the waiting game.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side, isn't it the cutest to see how proud they are of their accomplishment?
My kids always knew how to take the diaper off too...yeah, not a pretty picture. :-)
ReplyDeleteHe was busy in there, wasn't he? Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThey get so proud when they can undress themselves!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. I have been just waiting for the babies to figure this out. So far they have not with jammies but shirts, well that easy.
ReplyDeletetoo funny... I'm sure you were very happy that the diaper was still on!
ReplyDeleteLOL! My son used to unzip the zipper. Finally, we took a footie pajama and cut off the feet and put it on him backwards! That helped!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the visual of him running in the crib. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! He was proud of himself too!
ReplyDeletethat' is so CUTE! we have just gone off daylight saving, so everyone is a little wonky sleepwise here too!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha!! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteAw the freedom. Bina if her diaper is dirty before she falls asleep, off it comes. Today is the first day of the official training.
ReplyDeleteI've been told that a safety pin attached along the top of the zipper keeps them from pulling it down. Duct tape has also been used by a couple of parents I knew.
aw, no picture?
ReplyDeleteJames took his pjs and diaper off the other morning and then peed out of his bed through the rails! ick... pee everywhere! no fun.
james is now back to sleeping in the zipper pjs too!
