Earlier this week we went to our local library for their toddler reading program called "Wee Read". Jonah loves going and listening to the stories each week, and afterward we go upstairs to check out new books from the library.
Right now going to look at books in the library can be a bit of a challenge for me, with an inquisitive two-year-old and a ten-month old who is taking his first steps and wants to be anywhere besides in your arms. So I am holding Eli in one arm and trying to pick out books for the boys with the other, when Jonah starts to walk away.
I say, "Jonah come back. Where are you going?"
To which he replies (not exactly quietly), "I'm just going to check my website."
He then climbs up on one of the chairs by the catalog computers and starts to furiously type on the keyboard and move the mouse around. It was pretty hilarious. My two-year-old thinks he has a website, huh?
I asked him to come back here please, to which he said, "In a minute, Mommy, I'm checking my website!" while typing a bit more. I think by then nearly everyone in the library was silently chuckling at my silly son. I know the librarians were giving me amused smiles!
I almost felt the need to explain that Jonah doesn't actually have a website, and I really only spend time on the computer when the boys are napping in the afternoon. Instead I just laughed it off as I left the library carrying one boy, a diaper bag, a bag of books and a funny little boy in tow.
The library is always fun when you have a 2 yr. old in tow. A couple of those ice shots in the post below, looked like the Temple. I swear. Look at them.
ReplyDeleteThe kids love the library. We'll be two months without one. Sigh.
ReplyDeletehehehe. Maybe he should have his own blog...
ReplyDeleteToo cute!!
ReplyDeletelol! Too funny!! That's so cute, and he knew just what to do! Wonder where he learned that!?
ReplyDeleteMy son always rats me out too. I don't have to say something I'd rather not him repeat once and he's latched onto it.
ReplyDeleteVery cute story.
lol. about that age, kirstyn would pick up the "phone" and tell me shhhhh, i'm talking to a customer and telling them to send more money! (she was probably spending too much time around daddy's insurance office!) i love the things that they pick up on!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute! My kids are almost grown, and they still hang out at the library from time to time. It's a habit that's hard to break!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious. Wonder what exactly is on his website. lol!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!! I think it is SO cool that you are introducing them to the library!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so darn adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy littlest one pulls his little laptop toy computer up next to me when I am "checking my website..." ;)
