Have you ever attended a baby shower where you felt like you were trapped in a room full of people, most of whom you did not know, while being forced to play ridiculous games. No? Maybe it's just me.
So when it was my turn to be the recipient of a baby shower, I insisted on an open-house type shower. That way guests could stay for as long or as little as they wanted.
We did have some games and activities for the guests if they wanted to participate. One of the activities we had was decorating white onesies. We got many fun and interesting onesies that we are still using with our second son.
Believe it or not, my favorite onesie was decorated by my brother-in-law. It still cracks me up.
You would think that by now I would have found the correct button for endlessly peaceful days. Unfortunately the right button seems to change each day! Besides, I am not always the one that ends up pushing the buttons.
Right now Eli is at an ultra-wiggly stage. He does not want to sit still for an instant. He wants to crawl around and get into everything (toilet, anyone?). He doesn't quite understand the meaning of "no" and sometimes I feel like I chase him around all day. You can't take your eyes of him for an instant because if you do you never know what might happen. Just this morning he pitched himself headfirst into the tub. Fun stuff, huh?
Since I have to keep my eyes on him constantly, I guess it's a good thing he's a cutie. :o)
Clever shirt! Adorable little one!
ReplyDeleteLOVE you WW...yes I have played those down right annoying games. Love the shirt too. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDelete~Elyse~
I love that idea. I had never heard of that before. I have played the baby poop game where you guess what candy bar is in the diaper but I am not very good at that.
ReplyDeleteWhen our youngest was little I used to entertain my mom with tales of my day. Let's just say that he was a busy boy and broke two lamps, a t.v. and a vcr all before he was two. Everytime I headed to the bathroom he headed to get into something, lol!
One day, at her request, I taped my "day" with my toddler son. It is so much fun to watch now that he is 15! Part of it involves the dog throwing up and him coming around the corner and slipping and getting covered in it (and no, I didn't know it was there).
What an awesome shirt!!! Man, I need one of those!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a good thing he is so cute! But I think God must have made it that way. When our babies young, their welfare is in our hands, but it doesn't last long and from now on he'll learn to be more independent as each month goes by. Then you treasure the time when he was young.
ReplyDeleteHehehe, that is so cute and so clever. :)
ReplyDeleteso i'm one of those 'dorks' who actually looks forward to the games. but i love the onesie idea. wish i would've thought of that for my shower...
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea!!! I just went to a baby shower a couple of weeks ago, and I said to Den when I got home, "I'm never going to another baby shower again! They are so painful!!" Love this idea, love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a riot! And what a precious pose modeling it! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if I have to determine the brand-name of one more microwaved candybar nestled in a diaper...
oh the discovery age - "I can move - I can actually move and touch and oh what does this taste like"! So much fun!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI will definatly keep that idea in mind, the next time I throw a party. That shirt is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shirt! And I hope ou get some kind of a reprieve from chasing him all the time. :o)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
What a cute idea! And yes, baby showers can be the ultimate bit of no fun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a minefield to me...
ReplyDeleteMy WondWed post
He is so cute. That is a great idea for a shower game. I'll have to pass that along!
ReplyDeletethat is too cute... and a great idea for a baby shower. oh and I've totally been there with you on the shower things. I think having those games is silly!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hilarious onesie! Very creative! I hate games at baby showers, but that one is a great idea. I've heard of people doing that at a shower, but I've never been to one that did. I wouldn't be very creative though, so maybe it's for the best! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the little guy! I feel your pain...
It almost looks as though it was screen printed!
ReplyDeleteOh dang...is that not adorable or what?
ReplyDeleteCome on over...today I'm taking y'all on a tour of the Texas State Aquarium via photos!!!! See ya later alligator...Oops, I let the 'cat out of the bag'...Yep, there are alligators. One photo anyway.
Happy Wednesday.
That is the cutest onesie ever!! He should get that screen printed and sell them!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! What a great shirt.
ReplyDeleteI hate attending showers unless it is someone I am really close to and I know people there. It is torture to be at a party where you know no one....hasn't anyone realized that yet!! That onesie game idea was cute and the button onesie is priceless!
ReplyDeleteWhat you did was so cute! Does anyone actually like playing stupid shower games? I don't and didn't have a single one at mine. :)
ReplyDeleteGotta love it! I love the idea of decorating a onesie. Great idea! And loved your BIL's version...ahhhh, great reminder. Which button are we going to choose today! Ha.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best onesie ever!
ReplyDeleteGreat shirt! I just love the get into everything stage. I am in it too!
ReplyDeleteHe is SOOOOOOOOOo cute!
ReplyDeleteThat is a super great idea. I'm so going to steal it if I ever throw another shower.
ReplyDeleteYES, I have been to those baby showers...and like you I also had an open house instead of the traditional shower! Somehow, passing around a diaper with smashed-up candy bars inside is not my idea of a good time! I love that onesie, though! So, so, so true...I haven't found the right button with my three boys yet either, and the oldest will be 11 tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! So glad to meet you!
Whoops-sorry! I just commented as "preece@plconline.com" instead of pjmomof3boys...I'm the mom at Boogers and Burps. :)
ReplyDeleteThat onesie is so funny and clever! ha! Love it. :) I hear you on tracking after your young one all day long. Head-first into the tub? Oy. We haven't had that one yet though!
ReplyDeleteFirst off he is a doll. I can see why you have no trouble keeping an eye on him. Second, what a great idea to decorate onesie's. I love that idea :)
ReplyDeletenow that is a great 'game' and an awesome onies. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest onesie! He should make them and sell them on etsy. lol :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm with you on the showers!
What an adorable onesie!! Hope you found the button!
