Laundry Faux Pas and the Blue Toilet

It has been a couple of weeks since I participated in "Not Me! Monday". First, I couldn't think of anything particularly funny or embarrassing that had happened at the Honey House. So I just wrote about whatever I wanted (that's what bloggers do, right?). However, as this week progressed there were a couple of things that just begged to be put on my "Not Me!" list, so here it goes:
I did not make our steaks "very well done" because I got busy blogging and forgot about them. Nope, not me!
I did not accidentally wash a pair of my son's white underwear with a red blanket, making them slightly pink. Besides, pink is an o.k. color for boys now, right?
When our water main broke and we had no water, our kind neighbors let me use their downstairs bathroom to shower. I was not sad that I didn't have my camera with me so I could take a picture of their powder blue toilet to show to you. I also did not entertain thoughts of using the spare key they gave us to go over later to get said toilet photo.
I absolutely did not spend all evening at work with mud on my black shoes without noticing until I got home that night. I am too observant to do stuff like that!
I was not momentarily ungrateful for my vocal talent when I was asked to sing Alto instead of Soprano to help out the choir for their Christmas program. (You can probably guess which part I enjoy singing).
I have not been constantly saying "Mama-mama" to my eight month old to try to get him to say "Mama" before "Daddy". I'm not at all competitive like that!
I did not notice one of my hair piks in the washer after the clothes had finished washing. I most certainly did not somehow find the same hair pik in the dryer later with that same load of laundry. I mean, what kind of silly-head would see it and then end up putting it in the dryer anyway?!

After looking at the above list, I have decided that perhaps I am not qualified to do laundry at our house anymore! Too bad I can't just hire someone, huh? What didn't you do this week?

  6. Haha too funny. Love the laundry faux pas. And no matter how much my little guy is a momma's boy he is 18 months and still only throws "momma" a bone maybe once a month or so. Oh well I know he likes me better. ;)

  11. Funny blue toilet story. Our old home had a blue toilet in one bathroom and an avacado green one in the other bathroom. So not cool.

I was totally hormonal this week and spent most of the week crying. I am really wanting another baby and with hormones on top of that, I am like a crazy crying woman all of the time... Hopefully it will all pass this week....

  16. I think accidentally-turned-pink underwear is fine for little boys to wear. I just wouldn't call them panties! :)

  21. I remember when I was younger and dyed my brother's "whites" a shade of pink! They were in high school at the time (late 60's, 70's) and did not appreciate - at all - that I had done it.
I'm a fan of HGTV and have seen pink and blue toilets on there, but never in person! Lucky you!
My first "Not me!" post is up.

  26. I washed an orange table cloth with the towels and now every thing white is a dingy yellow color. My hubby refused to use the towels and asked me why I folded dirty towels. Um yeah, why would I put away dirty towel hun???

  28. When we moved into our house in MI, the bathroom had blue tile everywhere that would probably match that blue toilet. And the previous home owners accented the bathroom with pink - curtains, towels, rugs, shower curtain!

  29. At 19 months old I am still saying NaNa to my grandson trying to get his to say my name. :) He just isn't interested in talking when there's powder blue toilets to play in. :)

  32. I doubt they would mind your taking a pic of the blue toilet-- It's the Spiderwick's, right? Your neighbors to the South?

  33. Our favorite color for the toilet seat is very bight orange. It was put in the 70s and we still love it. It goes with orange and avocado greeen striped wall paper. I better take a picture while I think of it, or no one will believe me.

  35. Ha, I think your list was pretty hysterical. I've done quite a few of those things myself.

Can't ever think of a time though that I wanted to take a photo of a toilet. That one was by far my favorite.

  36. Funny. I have been reading MckMama's blog, and can't seem to post an "It's not Me Monday" yet - I can't think of much! I'm sure I do goofy things if I think hard enough! I love the title of your blog - cute.
