How Does Your Garden Grow?

The weather has turned colder here in the past week. Now it gets down to the low 40s at night and only gets up to the high 60s during the day. Before the end of the month we will probably have frost on the ground in the morning!

So we figure our little garden does not have much time left. This morning Jonah and I went outside to pick some tomatoes, peppers and zucchini while Eli was sleeping. Jonah was so cute I couldn't help running for the camera so I could take some photos.

Check out the size of that tomato! Isn't it gorgeous?

I hadn't checked on the zucchini in a while!
This one will probably end up as bread.

The next photo makes me laugh. I helped Jonah pick one of the bell peppers and he wanted to eat it right away. This kid loves salad and vegetables. Good thing I had my camera out!

It looks like I will be busy this weekend... probably making spaghetti sauce, freezing some peppers, and grating up zucchini. Good thing the harvesting season is almost over!

Finally, here is another picture of Eli. He is such a cutie when he is sleeping.

Have a wonderful Wordful Wednesday!

  11. I love a summer garden and yours still looks great. One of the saddest moments each year for me is when I finally have to pull mine all out. It's great to get so much fresh food and share that with the kiddos.

  16. I LOVE Eli's little fuzz! Oh my goodness, your boys are just fantastically cute! And yeah that zucchini is giant! Wonderful!

We must not live too far from each other; our weather sounds similar.

And yes, those darn baby gates will start tripping you up soon. We put one up (all we have really) when Moose started to crawl up the stairs. So our's is at the bottom of our stairs. No real need for another (but we own 2 more).
