A Milestone a Minute

My little boys are growing up SO fast. They want to do more and more things for themselves. This week Jonah has decided that he can put on his own shoes. He does a pretty good job... most of the time!
What's wrong with this picture?
Eli has figured out that his knees are good for something!

Now he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Sometimes he flops himself forward or pulls himself along with his arms while his little legs churn to propel his little body forward. He is going to have this crawling thing figured out in the next few days!

You may remember that in last week's Wordful Wednesday I mentioned that I had spent the day canning spaghetti sauce. So by popular request, here is all the beautiful sauce that I made a week ago:

That's a whole lotta sauce, no? I wish you could taste it. It is delicious! The only bummer is that no one has told the softball-sized tomatoes on my plants to stop turning red for a second and give me a break!

I am participating in Wordful Wednesday.

  7. My daughter wears her shoes like that too. In fact, she prefers them that way. We have started to tell her she has her feet on the wrong ankles!

  10. Hehe, for some reason kids don't even seem uncomfortable when they have their shoes on the wrong feet! I guess they're just so proud they don't even care! My nephew did that rocking back and forth thing for a while too... it's pretty stinkin' adorable so it was hard to teach him to actually move his arms and legs!

  19. That sauce looks so yummy!! I am hoping to start canning this year (waiting till we go apple picking - start with apple sauce), I might just have to hit you up for some tips.

As for the boys in the crib - its so cute but I am so scared the big monkey will roll over on the little guy - so now everynight we have to check on them multiple times!!

  20. Oh man that looks so yummy!

The sad thing is that sometimes I put Moose's shoes on the wrong feet. When you're in a hurry...geez. Poor kiddo. ha!

And I guess I was unaware you had 2 beautiful babies. Handsome!

  23. That is an awesome display of canning. Loved that pic. Very pretty!

And... my 7-year-old, who totally knows how to put on his shoes, still wears them backwards from time to time. I wonder if they feel more comfortable to him like that. Seriously, he doesn't even mind it--tennis shoes even. Weird, huh?
