Scavenger Hunt Sunday {11•25•12}

Home or Thankful

You may have noticed my lack of blog posts the past few weeks. Honestly, I will be thankful when November is over! It has been a rough month and I feel like we have had more than our share of "rain". But in the midst of the challenges I know we are still being blessed. I just have to remind myself that the sun does shine through the clouds and often there is a beautiful rainbow if you just stop and look for it.

In the Kitchen

December is right around the corner! Growing up we always bought a case of oranges around Christmastime, since there was always one in our stocking. So now I crave oranges this time of year and you can always find some in my kitchen.

Couple
It seems that I was going to stretch this prompt no matter what,
so I decided to share a couple of unrelated photos.

Don't you just love my family of Christmas reindeer? (It's a couple and their children!) I have been looking for deer like these for years. One of my dear friends asked her father make these for me and I was so happy when they arrived this week. Bring on Christmas!

While waiting with my kids to see Santa arrive at the mall via helicopter, I noticed there were tons of pigeons flying around the parking lot. So I decided to take a few shots for the fun of it. I absolutely loved this one of the sun shining through its wings.

Bubbles

I call these my Christmas bubbles. I used some red, white and green paper as a backdrop for this picture of oil bubbles in water.

Trees

We usually put up our Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and this year was no exception. The boys were SO excited to help me put the ornaments on the tree! Jonah was especially helpful in getting the ornaments high enough and making sure they were spread out.

ps. In case you were wondering, our trip to the dentist to get Jonah's teeth pulled did not go well. He panicked and I couldn't calm him down enough to get him numb. So we got to make another dentist appointment for him to get his teeth pulled, only this time he will be sedated (which of course our insurance doesn't cover). Ugh! I will be glad when we are done with this whole thing!

  12. Great set - absolutely love the deer (my trees are by a similar nature - admired a set on the secretary's desk one year, so she had a set made for me - score!). Sorry things didn't go well with the dentist - but hopefully next trip will take care of things.

  16. I love your reindeer. I work at a custom millwork shop and we have a small area with cut off boards that lots of hobbiest come in to buy. One man makes those little reindeer with the wood he gets from our shop. He made me one and I love it. All your shots are great! Good luck with the dentist. Ugg is right.

  17. Love your first shot... and the wings... lovely!! ;)

    been there done that with the dentist... I've been to the dentist a thousand time I know the drill (Owl City Song)... anyway... my son required sedation the first few times he went for cavities!! they gave us a little purple pill to take a couple hours before hand... he couldn't even hold his head up to walk into the dentist... hate seeing my kid out of it like that... but it does make the trip a lot less stressful for everyone... Hope all goes well!!

  18. Wow...the Christmas tree shot with your son is so beautiful. And your bubble picture is pretty amazing, too. Honestly, all your shots are ALWAYS amazing. My friend just got a case of mandarin oranges in the mail today, and gave me a few...they were seriously the best oranges I've ever tasted....I never thought of buying a box of oranges, but I may have to start making it my December tradition also!!! :)
