Scavenger Hunt Sunday: Easter {4•8•12}

New

This year we tried something new with our Easter eggs. We used old silk ties to dye the eggs. You wrap the eggs up in the ties and then boil them (instructions here). The dye from the silk transfers to the eggs. It was so fun to unwrap the eggs and see how awesome they turned out!

Life

On the way to soccer practice, we saw a whole herd of deer in a field across the street from the elementary school. I was surprised that I was able to get close enough to the deer to get such great pictures! This is one of my favorites.

Fragrant

All of the trees in my neighborhood are in bloom, and it makes the air smell so sweet!

Pink

I had so many beautiful pictures of the pink blossoms on the neighborhood trees that I had a hard time choosing just one. So you get three! I chose two for pink, and one for fragrant because they make me happy (and because the pictures of the pink peep that I thought I would LOVE, turned out horrendous).

Obvious

It is obvious that this is not a real bird's nest with eggs in it. This is a chocolate bird's nest cookie that I made for my kiddos yesterday. I made so many that we went and delivered some today. They were yummy!

  5. The eggs are fantastic! What a wonderful idea. I wish my son was little again just to try that. And Fragrant is BEAUTIFUL. For the record, obvious wasn't. I saw it and thought, "What's so obvious?" Then I read your description. Ding dong me.

  17. Outstanding set. I have never heard of doing eggs like that - and to think I just delivered over 30 of my husband's old silk ties to Goodwill. Perhaps once they have fulfilled their wearing purpose, someone will use them to make beautiful eggs.
