Tepee Time

I don't know about you, but winter gives me the blahs.

The weather outside is typically gray and dreary. It is usually too cold to play outside, so my two energetic boys and I are stuck inside trying to find fun things to do.

Sometimes this means the boys are bouncing off the walls, and Mommy needs an aspirin. Luckily for me, little Eli has recently discovered how fascinating books can be.

So what if one of his very favorite books is a coloring/sticker book? We can read that, right?

Jonah begs me nearly every day to play with a friend. We have been trading play dates with a friend. Once a week Jonah goes to his friend's house for the afternoon (hallelujah!), and one day a week his friend comes to play at our house. It is a really nice arrangement for both mommies. :o)

So one day when Micah came over we put up the tepee and the boys had a blast. They giggled and screamed as the "monster" sat outside the tepee and "shot at" them. As you can see, the monster got some pretty good shots and no one was injured!

The monster shot some cute little peeping Indians, don't you think?

Thank heaven for books, friends and tepees to make the boring winter months more enjoyable!

  2. We have a princess 'tent' that the kids spend a good couple of hours playing in. We do alright throught the winter months. It's at the beginning of the season that we get our cabin fever.
