You have heard of a 365 project, right? The idea is to take one photo every day for an entire year. I have seen several bloggers who have done it and the idea intrigued me.
Could I really find something interesting to take a photo of each day? It would definitely be a challenge, and I was thinking it would be a good way to improve my photography.
So after some deliberation, I decided that I was going to do it this year. I was all excited to get going!
I took a walk in Tucson on New Year's day and took some fabulous shots! The next day we spent the entire day in the car going home from our vacation, but I still managed to take a nice photo.
We got home late Saturday, but managed to get all our stuff out of the car and get everyone settled an off to bed. Then Sunday morning we managed to make it to church. The rest of the day we started unpacking from our trip while packing up the Christmas decorations at the same time. We were all so tired from our trip that EVERYONE took a nap and we even went to bed early.
Then I woke up this morning and realized.... I forgot to take a picture yesterday! It was only Day 3 and I FORGOT! I couldn't believe it.
So much for my 365 project! Now what do I do? Should I just skip Day 3 and call it an oops!? Should I start over with today? Or do I just throw in the towel, since apparently remembering to take a photo each day amidst my daily chaos is a bit more difficult than I anticipated?
another blog I read is going to do project 365, but post them once a week instead of every day. She is going to post 7 pics on Sundays... a thought? or else it is project 365 doesn't mean you have to start exactly on 1/1 as long as you do 365 pictures... right?
ReplyDeleteI say truck on!! I think this is a great way to challenge ourselves creatively (I always like a good challenge) and just think next year you can look back and say I got 364/365 that's pretty darn good - lets go for all 365 this year!!!
ReplyDeleteMy gf is doing this as well as me. I don't think it has to be every day but you have to have like a week montage is how I am doing it.. LIke anyone is gonna know you didn't take it the right day lol. simple take off the time and date stamp on the camera
ReplyDeleteI say just keep going. The point is to take pictures as much as you can. Your photos are always beautiful so keep it up.
ReplyDeleteLol! I tried this and failed!
ReplyDeleteNo, don't give up yet. Give it another go and start over. Then reevaluate if you forget again.
ReplyDeleteHaving just (almost) completed my own Project 365 (I still have to post the last month), I would recommend just filling it in with a fun/generic picture from an adjoining day. It seemed too sad for me to skip a day completely and even sadder to have that one busy day shut down the whole thing. Good luck! It was definitely a fun challenge for me!
ReplyDeleteI'd just not worry and keep going. But every day is too much stress for me! I would have fun with it but not obsess.
ReplyDeleteI think missing a day or two here or there for various reasons is no big deal ~ even if the reason is forgetfulness!! ;) I think the idea is more to heighten awareness of the everyday beauty that surrounds us and/or to learn to seek it out. Missing a few days throughout the year doesn't diminish the overall experience. Go for it!!
ReplyDeleteI think that's what would happen to me. I would totally skip a day and then be discouraged!! It's a great challenge!!
ReplyDeleteJust keep going!! lol!
ReplyDeleteLOL, sounds like something I would do. I say keep going. =D
ReplyDeleteYeah keep on doing it!! Yu could post every week and make it easier!! Do it with me!
ReplyDeleteKeep going with it! I'm sure that most of us will miss a day or two along the way(except me, because I am perfect....hahahaha, if you believe that, then I know you haven't been reading my blog much!)
ReplyDeleteI saw someone comment that you could post the pics once a week....I really like that idea, I might try that myself. You could always supplement that missed day with a great picture from the day before....it is about having fun...not stress. I'm going to remind myself of that the first day that I don't have a great picture (which will probably fall somewhere next week!)
I say just skip it. Cecily is doing this as well.....the 365 days of photos. I think it's such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteDId I tell you that I moved? I'm sure I did?

I think you could keep going. I'm committed to journaling a photo a day and I decided the photo didn't have to be taken on the day, it just had to represent what I did that day or wanted to highlight that day, if that makes sense. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I am a brand-new blogger and I would love to start the 365 thing. But...its the 11th of January so it definitely won't be in line with the calendar. But, who cares!!
ReplyDeleteHello- I love the idea of the project 365!! Being a mommy, too I have little time to just sit back and savor the moments. By taking a picture a day- it creates a memory and you can remeber it more easily!!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are so small for such a little amount of time too-before you know they are growing up!!
Great idea- I am going to do the project as well!!!
Good luck!!
