Put a Sock in It!

If you ever see little Eli without socks on, I swear it is not because I am a horrible mother. No matter what I do this little guy is determined to take his socks off.

The funny thing is what he decides to do with the socks once they are off. Check out these photos I took with my cell phone while my husband was driving us around on Saturday.

Look, Mommy! I got my sock off by myself!

Yum-o!

Ah well, at least I don't have to tell him to put a sock in it!

Sometimes I don't actually mind the sock in his mouth (especially if it's clean!) because lately he has become a bit of a screamer. Nice, huh?

Go see who's feeling more Wordful than Eli.

  2. That is so cute! My youngest used to love to take his socks off at McDonalds and throw them inside the playland (the part that's zipped up and protected and you aren't supposed to get into).

  3. I hated the taking-off-the-socks phase. Not a big deal when it's warm outside...

  4. My baby kept takin' his shoes & socks off in Target. Finally I gave up and threw them in the basket. The check out lady was nicely letting me know how cold it was outside. And asking where my son's shoes and socks were!

  5. that is too funny. Blake was the same way with keeping socks on, but Colby is the one who stuffs them in his mouth

  6. I loathe socks too! So I can understand his action.

    He's adorable.

Happy Wordful Wednesday. My entry today is one part cats, and other goodie tidbits from an alphabet challenge. Won't you stop by and say hi?

  7. Oh how well I remember those days...we had more odd socks around than you could imagine...my son would take them off and throw them down somewhere.

  8. Maybe his screaming is annoying him too : )

  9. It still baffles me about what happens to all of the socks in our house. And my kids are much older than that. You would think they would be able to keep up with them.

    Cute kid, btw!

  12. It seems that all little ones like to take socks off. My nephew takes his socks off within 10 minutes of shoes coming off!

  13. So cute -- I have to laugh because just yesterday I took my one year old into the store with bare feet because he had taken his shoes and socks off and I needed to just run in for one thing and was late already --- it was also warm out!!! Little ones are so silly.

    A magical WW to you!

  14. Oh goodness, that looks so familiar! My son has discovered his socks in the last month or so and does the same thing. It's bad when it's so cold out though, since he does that in the car too, even before it's warmed up.

  18. My little guy does exactly the same thing. I tried shoes, but they just come right off too. The other day I had a man bring me a sock at the grocery store that he had taken off and thrown to the wolves when I wasn't paying attention. It wouldn't be so bad, but it's so cold here. Not only do I worry about frostbite, but I have to carry around extra socks so I can put dry ones on his feet as needed. Your pictures are too cute.

  19. I tell you, we lose more socks this way. They take them off in the car and then they are gone. I never find them again. One of these days, I am going to clean out the van and find a mountain of socks.

  20. When my youngest was this age, Hubz owned a convertible. We'd hook her into the car seat in back, put the top down, and before we'd gone 2 blocks, off would come the shoes, thrown out the back of the car, then the socks a couple of blocks later. All the neighbors knew when we were out and about!

  21. too funny! kirstyn used to take her socks off all of the time and put them on her hands...but would she wear gloves? no, never. kids are funny and hey, that seems like a great way to keep him quiet in the car!

  23. Darling pictures and made me smile BIG! He's a cutie-patootie! Yep! Sometimes you gotta love how they even know how to silence themselves without us telling them to put a sock in it! Cute post.

  26. So funny. I wold love if my 2 year old would chew on socks once in a while. They are at the stage that when we drive they ask what is that, and that, and why? why? why mommy?

  27. Haha, if you just put the last pic up it would look like you are so mean! Ha!

The baby I nanny for does this same thing!
