Over the River and Through the Woods

This year for Thanksgiving we all went to visit my parents in Wyoming. On the way there we saw some of the most breathtaking scenery! I was really sad that I didn't have my good camera with me... just my point and shoot.

The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to go back and take some pictures. After Thanksgiving dinner my husband came with me and we went for a little drive... alone. I appreciated Honey Daddy being willing to come with me on my photo hunt, stopping on the side of the road and tramping through the shrubbery with me.

Here are some of the photos that he and I took. I had a hard time choosing, but these are my favorites:

I love the composition of this shot. The rock wall, the red willows, the pine trees... I thought it was beautiful.

These were all taken at a place called Allred flats and you can see exactly why it is called that, can't you?

This one in particular is my favorite! I love the red willow bushes and the chilly brook.

I love that learning about photography is helping me to find joy and beauty in my everyday journey.

I am participating in Wordful Wednesday.

  4. Love the photos. I've never been out west before. My parents go every year. I guess I'm kind of afraid of the mountains or I suppose it would be any elevation changes and the havoc it plays with my lungs. I can see I'm missing out on some spectacular photo ops. May just have to go for it one day.
