Dear Tooth Fairy,

Just so you know, I am not writing you this letter because we have teeth for you to collect at our house. On the contrary, I am writing because of teeth that we would like to receive.

Everyone knows that your duties include collecting lost teeth in return for payment. I am assuming that you must also be in charge of making them grow, since you want them badly enough to pay for them once they come out.

As you know, Eli is working on growing his top two teeth right now. He is absolutely miserable! His poor little gums are red and sore and he chews on anything and everything to help them feel better.

Mmm... Mommy's phone is yummy.

He is much more cranky than normal and can you blame him? Instead of sleeping through the night like he has been for months, Eli has been waking up a couple of times each night because his teeth are bugging him. Needless to say, this has not necessarily made me the most rested or cheerful mother these days!

And we haven't even mentioned the diapers yet. I don't want to get into too much detail, but wet and explosive are terms that come to mind. We haven't seen diapers like this since he was a newborn! Plus there is also all the drooling that goes along with teething. So I guess you could say my laundry duties have also increased lately.

I want you to know that we appreciate the great job you did on the bottom two teeth; they are coming along nicely. But we were wondering if there is any way you could speed up the process of growing the top two. It would save us all from prolonged pain and misery (and tons of Tylenol). I would even be willing to foot the bill for you to get these teeth back when they fall out in the future... and I promise to teach my kids to brush so you get back nice, white teeth. If these terms aren't agreeable, then I'm sure we can work something else out!

Can you say No to this face?

If it turns out that I am wrong and you are not the one in charge of growing teeth, perhaps you could pass this letter on to Santa and tell him that All We Want For Christmas is Eli's Two Front Teeth. But we would like this to be a pre-Christmas present, please!

Sincerely,
Honey Mommy

If that Tooth Fairy hooks up your little guy with front teeth, can you send her my daughter's way? She is really tired of not being able to bite into apples...

  10. I'm sorry to hear what you guys are going through. My baby cut his first one at 4 months.

He's now 14 months and has them all! He got them in batches. Sometimes I miss his little gummy smile! He got them too fast in my opinion!

  15. So adorable...my little guy got three top teeth first if you can believe it. He is not working on the bottom too and I totally understand your pain. Drool, chewing, cranky all come to mind. Your little guy is so adorable. I`m going to send you an e-mail to find out how you put your blogname on the pictures. I really need to do that with mine, too.

  22. Awww poor sweetie. My little guy is getting his two k9s and they are ROUGH. I believe they are to blame for this crying upon crying the last few days. I noticed them this morning. Have you tried Hyland's Teething Tablets? All natural and at least for E-Man they do really help.

  26. Oh my gosh, Eli is just SO cute! I wanna squeeze those cheeks! Teething can be such a drag. Don't know if you've tried Hyland's teething tablets before but they were a GODSEND for us. They're a homeopathic remedy you can find in most grocery stores. My boys LOVED them and they really seemed to help. We're working on 2 yr molars here. Brennen's started biting again! Poor kid.

  31. Very cute!! Teething is so hard for mommies and babies. Btw--I tagged you in tomorrow's post!

  32. Poor little thing!! Have you seen those mesh fruit holders? You put frozen fruit (or veggies) in them, and the little ones can gnaw on something cold (and nutritious) while they are teething. My nephew loved them while he was teething. You can get them at Target.

Oh, the cartoon characters are from istock.com. A little pricey, but I knew I would use them a lot, so I thought it was worth the investment. Then I used Comic Life for the template and word bubbles.
