The next closest place I could find was in the next city over, and they charge $3 for admission. I don't know if I'm naive or what, but I was kind of hoping to find a field full of pumpkins somewhere that would let me take pictures as long as I took home a pumpkin. I guess not!
Then while I was out cycling I passed a nursery that had a cute little straw maze set up with pumpkins on it. It was perfect! I decided to bring the boys by and see if anyone would get upset if I took a few photos. I was in luck because nobody said a thing about it!
Here is Eli checking out the straw. He just couldn't figure out what that funny stuff was!
This is the cutest photo ever, don't you think? I don't know how I managed to get such a great smile while trying to make sure that he didn't face plant off the bench! I just love this dimpled little boy!
I tried to get both of the boys together, but that proved to be a bit more difficult. The best shot I got was this one where they weren't looking at me. All the others they were giving me the cranky-eye... like "Mom! Can we stop now?".
I didn't get any nice shots of Jonah with the pumpkins. He kept giving me his version of a smile, which is a kind of grimace that makes you think he is in pain. I did manage to catch this shot of him that same day as we were walking through a field. I guess right now it's best if I catch him off guard and don't tell him to "Smile!".
Finally, can you believe that it actually snowed here on Sunday?! I was completely disgusted. Jonah was completely delighted! At least one of us enjoyed it, right?
I am participating in Wordful Wednesday.
those pics are so cute. I love the one of him on the bench... and snow... I can't believe you already have snow
ReplyDeleteYou sure did turn a not so good thing into an awesome thing. Love it!!! The pictures are great.
ReplyDeleteI love those pictures. The one on the bench is adorable. We don't have that kind of thing here in UK (I'm not entirely sure we grow pumpkins over here either)
ReplyDeleteYou have the cutest little boys! The pictures came out great! I'm hoping to take Court to a local pumpkin patch and take some pictures soon! I didn't realized they charged you for looking at pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are great! And your boys are too cute. But SNOW! ick!
ReplyDeleteOh, such cute pictures! I agree - $8 is steep to be able to pick out a pumpkin & take a picture. The nursery was a great idea. :) Your boys are so precious.
ReplyDeletethe pics did turn out good! around here several of the churches set up pumpkin patches and have a story time and/or craft time. glad you found some pumpkins to take pictures with. the hay discovery faces are funny!
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! They are darling!!! Charge for pumpkin viewing??? OMG
ReplyDeleteNow that is ingenuity!! and the pictures look like you are at a patch. I'm with you, you should not have to pay to be at a pumpkin patch! I thought they made money on the pumpkins??? Anyway, we should all follow your lead and look for alternatives to the "money maze" we find ourselves in during the lengthy holiday season!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the picture where the snow are falling down. By the d way, tnx for hopping in my blog Sitsa :)
ReplyDeleteoh that baby - so cute!! love the hair still!!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are nothing short of fabulous! What adorable little men you have!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we got snow already too...and now its supposed to be in the 70s at the end of the week!! If only Mother Nature could make up her mind!!!
I'm kind of in shock about places charging so much as admission when most people will leave with a pumpkin (or several). It's not like the grocery store charges you to walk in... Anyway, odd, and glad you kept looking because these are some really cute shots!
ReplyDeleteOh, this pictures are adorable.. I am so loving that bench one..
ReplyDeleteWOw, snow already.. I am still wearing capris and flip flops..
That second one is sooo sweet! But the barefeet, leading to the snowy picture made me very cold! lol
ReplyDeleteSo adorable...and seriosly - charging just to get INTO a pumpkin patch is beyond me, too. It's the fleecing of America I tell you!!
ReplyDeleteKudos to free pumpkin photos..Sheesh $8!?
ReplyDeleteAnd that fuzzy hair sooo wins! I don't even know what the contest is but I vote.
Oh man, they are so cute! I can't believe it's snowing anywhere considering it's 80 here on a good day still! Eck! How I'd LOVE some snow!
ReplyDeleteSNOW?!? yikes no way!
ReplyDeletetotally cute pics super cute boys!
Your babies are adorable. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I am new to SITS but already addicted. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all.......LOVE, LOVE your new blog design......and the pictures.....oh so cute. Your boys are so cute. Snow? Already?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had an amazing time at the pumpkin patch. Your little ones are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo, so cute! I love the pictures! Our only close by pumpkin patch also charges 8 dollars for admittion. Why do you have to pay to go to a field?!
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos are adorable!
Those are some great pictures. I think pictures where they arent looking at the camera or aware of the camera are the best shots. I have been there myself trying to get all my kids to look at the camera at the same time and smile or atleast not making funny faces, I have decided that its an impossible task ... lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post and cute pictures! I am going to a pumpking patch this weekend as well. I will def. be posting pictures :)
ReplyDeleteso cute. i love it... from bare feet to ski jackets all in one post!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos--wow it snowed. It got cold here, but no snow yet.
ReplyDeleteOooooooooo! I love baby toes!
ReplyDeleteThat is insane! I have never paid admission to a pumpkin patch. Just paid for the pumpkin or whatever events we decided to do such as the corn maze. Weird!
ReplyDeleteCute guys!
ADORABLE! Very cute pics.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet boys! And my kids do the grimacy smile thing too.
ReplyDeleteLove the Pix they are way too fun!!
ReplyDeleteWe have had snow too. It still comeing down yuck!!
They charge you admission? Insane.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are adorable, you did a great job.
Happy Wednesday, sweetie.
Those are great pumpkin pictures. You can also call around to a local church and see if they have a "pumpkin patch". There are a few here that put one together every year and they don't charge to take pictures or look around.
ReplyDeleteMy kids have loved the snow the few times we got it. We even woke them up once after midnight when it started snowing so they could play in it. Hey we are in Texas it doesn't snow here very often.
super cute pictures. And can I just pipe in here and say I hate "pumpkin patches" that charge and entrance fee! They already rip you off w/ the cost of pumpkins but really, to pay to get in! aughhh...
ReplyDeleteLucky for us, there's a local farm that we can go to that is great. A corn maze, hay rides and loads of pumpkins to choose from.
Beautiful babies....oh and the kids are cute too! J/K! Loved the photos!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great story. I agree with you on the pumpkin prices, I can't spend it either. What we do for a good photo opportunity... :-)
ReplyDeleteVisting from SITS! Cute boys! We went to a pumpkin patch last Friday that was free! Free straw maze, free petting zoo. Anything that was not free was rather affordable. Of course, you had to pay for pumpkins, but not for the experience! Yikes!
